Ladder Golf Overview
So.. its ladder golf you're interested in. Most likely originating from cowboys in the historical West,
this game has risen from the depths of the unknown through the world of the RV traveler. Its
popularity began to rise through camp grounds across America and is currently enjoying the peak of its popularity.
While its origins are mostly unknown, I did scrounge up some info on
ladder golf history.
Many names exist for this game, some of the more popular being "ladder ball," "lasso golf," "hillbilly golf,"
and "Texas horseshoes."
The goal of the game is to toss "bolos" (2 golf balls connected with a string) at a "ladder" (structure with
horizontal pipes or "rungs") in an attempt to get the bolo to wrap around the rungs of the ladder. I put together
some easy to follow instructions showing
rules of the game.
Want to build your own set? I've also put together easy to follow
instructions
(with pictures) showing how to build your own set. You can also see pictures and read stories about homemade sets built by others. Check'em out and post your own. Would you rather save time and just buy a set? Due to the game's popularity, many different companies have begun producing & selling some really nice sets. Trying to get the best "bang for your buck" can be a challenge. Check out this list of companies producing the game's equipment with summaries & reviews of each as well as links to great deals for buying their products online.
